Dudley Council, the police and voluntary sector organisations are teaming up for NAVIGATE a roadshow, timed around the police’s Operation Sceptre – stop knife crime awareness day Monday 11th March 2019 and national CSE awareness day Monday 18th March 2019. Staff and volunteers have gifts to give away and will provide information and advice on community safety issues, such as knife crime, trafficking and modern slavery, criminal exploitation, youth violence and gangs.
The teams will be at:
Asda in Sedgley on Monday 11th March 2019
Stourbridge Ryemarket on Tuesday 12th March 2019
SWITCH Castle Street, Dudley, on Wednesday 13th March 2019
Barnardo’s in the Moor Centre, Brierley Hill on Thursday 14th March 2019
At the entrance of Cornbow, Halesowen on Friday 15th March 2019
The event will run from 10am to 2pm each day.
A representative from DMBC said:
“It’s great to see so many organisations across our borough coming together and getting out and about in our towns to raise awareness of these serious issues and I would encourage people to go along to them.”
“The aim is to educate and inform, as well as to listen to people if they have concerns about any of the issues or signpost them to the appropriate support.
“We should not be afraid to talk about these difficult issues and awareness roadshows such as these are vital to help keep people safe.”
